Christina and Ryan’s Tampa engagement session was such a joy to photograph! They’re a sweet, down-to-earth couple, and it was clear from the start how much they love each other. Adding to the fun, they brought along their golden retriever, Ellie, who was more than happy to be part of the photos.
First Stop in this Tampa Engagement Session: Curtis Hixon Park
We started Christina and Ryan’s engagement session at Curtis Hixon Park in Downtown Tampa. The city skyline and greenery created a beautiful, layered setting. Some of my favorite shots featured the historic Plant Museum building in the background.
Christina and Ryan mentioned they prefer more traditional, posed portraits, so we focused on that, but I also made sure to capture a few candid moments—little smiles, shared laughter, and the way they naturally gravitate toward each other.
Second Stop: Cypress Point Park
Next, we headed to Cypress Point Park, where the atmosphere completely shifted from urban energy to a serene, coastal setting. Cypress Point Park is one of my favorite engagement session spots in Tampa.
This spot is a hidden gem in Tampa, offering beautiful nature trails, sandy shores, and stunning golden-hour light. The gentle ocean waves created a relaxing, romantic backdrop, perfect for Christina and Ryan to unwind and enjoy the moment. Ellie, their golden retriever, was absolutely in her element. As the sun dipped lower, the light cast a gorgeous glow, making for some of the most beautiful portraits of the session. It was the perfect way to wrap up the evening—calm, intimate, and full of love.
