When I reflect on a gallery, I think back to my initial conversation with a client. Specifically, what did they want their wedding to feel like. And then I ask myself, “Did I deliver?”. When we first met, Cait and Dustin envisioned an evening at the Powel Crosley Estate headlined by the words Warmth, Intimate, and Welcoming. Under the stars with 65 of their closest friends and family, and among tear-jerking speeches and a convivial family-style dinner, the images bear out that they absolutely nailed their vision.
But beyond just checking the boxes of their dream aesthetic, what stands out most is how present they were. There was no rush, no pressure to make the day anything other than what it was—purely them. From the quiet moments of Cait stepping into her dress to the laughter echoing through dinner, every frame tells the story of a couple who fully embraced the joy of their day.
As a photographer, that’s what I hope for every couple. Yes, the details matter, and of course, the setting was stunning. But when I look back at their gallery, what I see most is a wedding that felt lived in—where the love was tangible, the connections were real, and the memories are now beautifully preserved.
One of my favorite parts of the wedding day was Cait’s nieces. They almost served as this anchor to keep people grounded all day. I remember walking in to the day and see them playing with dolls just a few feet away from Cait’s hung up wedding dress. As a girl dad, I couldn’t deny how cute that visual was!
As guests arrived in a shuttle they were greeted by champagne flutes and slowly began to make their way to the ceremony in anticipation of the big moment. To no one’s surprise, the ceremony was very moving thanks to the vows they each exchanged. Powel Crosley sunset ceremonies are legendary and this one was no exception.
One of my favorite parts of Powel Crosley are the portraits just minutes before the sun sets. It allows for some really spectacular imagery.
In the evening, the two things that I recall the most are an incredibly moving matron of honor speech (it had half the guests wiping their eyes) and a really lively and friendly family-style dinner lit amongst the candle glow. It really made me so happy for Cait and Dustin that they nailed their vision with that dinner. And to round out the night, Phase 5 band did what they do best as the guests danced under the stars!

"We can't say enough WONDERFUL things about our experience with Eddy—"
—the attention to detail, ease of working together, his fun personality and his dedication to his work are top notch. Simply capturing the people that were there was one thing, but Eddy captured the emotions and the story behind the entire day and for that we will be forever grateful.
